SELF DIRECTED LEARNING

A few months ago, when I had just put to birth, I became aware that I was having trouble efficiently allocating my time between chores, school, and personal obligations. I procrastinated and felt overburdened often. My well-being and productivity were being negatively affected, so I made the decision to take charge and work on my time management skills independently.

I began by identifying my main challenges which includes putting things off till the very last minute, I didn’t have a set routine, I tried to multitask too much but was not successfully finishing activities.

As I thought about these problems, I realised how important it was to have useful time management skills.

I made specific and precise goals to check my progress, so I created a daily schedule and follow it for a week, I also cut down on distractions and set up a regular schedule that strikes a balance between taking care of my home, school, and personal time.

I implemented the use of Time-blocking applications, such as opal and Google Calendar and a tangible planner to keep track of priorities and chores.

I established daily and weekly goals like prioritising chores according to their significance and urgency.

I limited distractions such as keeping my phone on mute during study and work hours

I evaluated my plan at the conclusion of each week and made necessary adjustments.

I kept track of my progress by examining how grounded I was to my timetable and finished assignments on time.

I evaluated my accomplishments prior to and following the implementation of these tactics and considered if I felt more in control of my schedule and less anxious.

In conclusion, by focusing on self-directed learning, I was able to greatly enhance my time management abilities. I became less stressed, more productive, and improved my responsibilities-balancing practices. I learned from this experience how important consistency and self-control are to developing life skills.
